Our longstanding experience with large national retail establishments has prepared us for large and complicated orders. A unique opportunity presented itself, allowing us to work with Ann Taylor and LOFT and their marketing department. Their success story follows:

Ann Taylor and LOFT bags have a very specific brand image: clean, sophisticated, and upscale. Less is more, which makes each decision concerning packaging all that more crucial.

With these custom bags, decisions were made to count on multiple levels.

  • The bags are constructed with paper containing 40% post consumer waste. This allows the bags to be used with confidence where regulations are in place, banning single use bags. Not only is an eco-friendly choice, it is a solution for stores in environment-conscious areas.
  • A special printing treatment was used to achieve spot UV shine on uncoated paper, highlighting the bright pop of color in the LOFT bag logo and the toned stripe. The sherbet colors are brought to life with this specialty printing, creating an elegant but understated design.
  • The rope handles were custom dyed to match each LOFT bag logo, creating a cohesive and stunning effect. The colors used on the bag draw directly from this season’s clothing line, completing the circle.

Due to the complexity of the print job and in order to strengthen the new working relationship, representatives from Prime Line Printing accompanied the client to a press check in China to ensure customer satisfaction. In response, we received this letter from Steven Thomas, Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager of Global Procurement at LOFT and Ann Taylor:

“It is often very difficult in establishing trust and rapport with new vendors/clients in the beginning of new sourcing projects like this and there’s often a lot of angst and second guessing in the initial launch but I honestly feel that after meeting with the factory and working with both them and Prime Line on this press check that we have started down the path of developing a long term relationship and partnership which I feel will be beneficial to both companies long into the future. Again, thank everyone for a fine job well done!”
